The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), through its IP Academy, in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), will commence the 2nd run of the WIPO-IPOPHL Summer School. This is the only WIPO Summer School in the Southeast Asian Region.
The WIPO–IPOPHL Summer School on IP is an extensive and comprehensive 10-day online lecture series which aims to provide an opportunity for graduate students and professionals to acquire a deeper understanding of IP, how it can be used as a tool for sustainable, socio-cultural, and economic development of emerging economies, as well as, exposing and informing them about the role of WIPO in the administration and provision of global IP services.
This year, with the theme “Intellectual Property for Emerging Economies,” participants of this Summer School will be exposed to various aspects of IP, including the international nature of IP protection and the interface between IP and other disciplines. The program will take an interdisciplinary, problem-oriented approach through the following methodologies: lectures, simulation exercises, group discussions, panel discussions, and case studies.
